 Dear People who Love Me,
> Things are going good in Kitami, the weather has been fantastic,
> perfect for short sleeves, but not so fun when we are biking up hills
> all day. But hey, my legs are looking good...and pale. Oh well. Japan
> is certainly an interesting country, Im about used to sleeping on a
> futon (not the same as America, here it is just a little pad), ive got
> 3 stacked up, making my bed about 3 inches thick...on the floor. Food
> updates: so far Ive had stir fried cow intestine, and some amazing
> sushi, last week I had it with squid and octopus, just raw tentacle,
> sucker and all. It was a little chewy, but pretty good. Too much rice,
> Ive had a traditional Japanese breakfast a few times, which means a
> bowl of rice with a raw egg and soy sauce, and a bowl of mizo soup (a
> broth made from soy beans). It is not very filling, or flavorful. I
> prefer my granola and toast with peanut butter.
> The missionary work is awesome, we have some incredible investigators.
> No baptisms yet, but we are planning on a few very soon. The language
> has been coming along smoothly, I can pretty much comfortably talk to
> anyone I meet, which comes in handy. My companion and I pretty much
> split up all our lessons and all, so I definately feel like I am
> contributing to this great work. It seems like its always right when
> you're getting frustrated, tired, and maybe a little homesick that a
> miracle happens, and I realize how blessed I am, And we get right back
> to work. So far Ive realized that life is so short, and we should all
> do everything we can to make every second count. Its also when youve
> gone a few weeks without TV or the internet that you realize how much
> more you experience the world without it. So do me a favor: next time
> you are about to watch that pointless TV show or "surf" the internet,
> and ask yourself if there is something more you can contribute. I
> promise you there is something better, more uplifting and enriching.
> Just find it, enjoy it, and remember it. More pics coming soon,
> remember you can find it all at elderandrewjones.blogspot.com. Love
> you all.
